High-Voltage DC Power Supplies
Higher-voltage and Higher-power Supplies require more complex design solutions. The heat to be dissipated and installation infrastructure, plus choice of insulation system in a HVPS are driven by the output voltage and output power which ultimately dictates packaging. Typical insulation systems are based on air, dielectric oil, epoxy, RTV Silicone and even Sulfur Hexafluoride (SF6). The method of cooling is a factor as well, the choices often coming down to air, water or oil, depending on the platform design requirements. Ignition Safety Devices
Excelitas Technologies specializes in the design, manufacture, and testing of MIL-STD-1901A compliant rocket motor Ignition Safety Devices (ISD) for safe initiation of both launch and flight motor initiators. Our ISD designs are compatible with through bulkhead initiators that work in-line with the detonator to provide highly reliable transfer of pyrotechnic energy, while isolating the ISD from the rocket motor heat and combustion effects. Our ISDs are designed for either single- or multiple-pulse initiation applications.

Omniblock Integrated X-Ray Systems
Omniblock® X-ray generators from Excelitas Technologies integrate the high-voltage source and X-ray tube into one consolidated housing. This design configuration eliminates the high-voltage cables and connectors reducing cost while improving system design flexibility and streamlining integration. They are specifically designed for generating X-rays in static or rotating applications using proven designs of up to 180 kV and 2.4 kW. Phototransistors
Phototransistors are photodiode-amplifier combinations integrated within a single silicon chip. The phototransistor can be viewed as a photodiode whose output current is fed into the base of a conventional transistor. These photodiode-amplifier combinations are put together to overcome the major limitation of photodiodes: unity gain. The typical gain of a phototransistor can range from 100 to over 1500.
