CryoTel® Active Vibration Cancellation (AVC)
Sunpower, Inc. introduces the Active Vibration Cancellation (AVC) system for the CryoTel® MT, CT, and GT cryocoolers. The active balancer uses a feedback signal from an accelerometer to cancel the first 10 harmonics of the 60 Hz operation of the cryocooler, minimizing vibration at the cold tip as well as exported vibration to its mounting structure.

CryoTel® Generation II Controller
The Generation II Controller is backward compatible with Generation I, so any setups which are communicating with Sunpower’s Generation I Controller will work with the new controller. Users switching from Generation I to Generation II may need to increase the DC voltage to the controller 1-2 volts to match the maximum power they attained with the Generation I Controller. The mass of the Generation II Controller is 490 grams.

Cryocooler
CryoTel® DS30
The CryoTel® DS 30 Stirling cryocooler offers efficient, reliable, compact and high power cooling to the market in the temperature range of 35 to 250 Kelvin. The DS30 was optimized for applications in which SWAP (size, weight and power) and reliability are concerns. The DS30 consumes considerably less power than other cooling alternatives and requires no maintenance, making it ideal for strategic as well as industrial applications. Both the cold head and the pressure wave generator can be mounted in any orientation. Application examples include semiconductor manufacturing, large infrared detectors, RF receivers or antennas, astronomical telescopes, laser cooling, high-temperature superconductivity, cold traps, and others.

High-end Transmission Electron Microscope
CryoARM
JEOL announces the latest member in its family of high-end transmission electron microscopes, the CryoARM. This highly automated TEM is designed for unattended operation and high throughput imaging of cryo-EM specimens. The CryoARM was initially introduced to a select audience at the 2016 Gordon Research Conference in Hong Kong, M&M 2016 in Columbus, OH and EMC 2016 in Lyon, France. The CryoARM is a dedicated cryo-TEM, based on the highly successful JEOL ARM (Atomic Resolution Microscope) series, an ultrahigh performance, highly stable platform considered to be the "best-in-class" TEMs. The development of the CryoARM was accomplished in collaboration with leading Life Science researchers.
