Fixed Attenuators are waveguide components for introduction of some particular attenuation value in to the waveguide network for signal leveling or reflection compensation. The attenuators have two types of design: with resistive plate in the waveguide diagonal plane or using coupling technology. The FAXE 3, 6, 10, 15, 20, 30 dB attenuators are available in waveguide bands from 18 through 225 GHz. The FAXE Fixed Attenuators can be used as laboratory Standards against which other instruments or devices are calibrated in case the parameters of these Fixed Attenuators are stable enough and were measured with appropriate accuracy.

High Voltage Pulse Attenuators
Barth High Voltage Pulse Attenuators are matched impedance coaxial attenuators for use primarily in pulsed 50 ohm systems, or where occasional transients would damage ordinary units. The attenuator design closely matches the impedance around each resistor, to that resistor. These attenuators feature an input impedance very close to 50 ohms, with characteristics as good or better than most microwave attenuators. These units are ideal for use in nuclear and high energy experiments. Extensive testing during manufacturing insures very high reliability for single-shot experiments. A voltage coefficient of the resistive film of less than .0001 %/V allows low voltage calibration of most systems.

This device has low impedance mismatch, high bandwidth, wide dynamic range and is capable of rapid state change. The QPA8 can be an attractive alternative to either the manually operated microwave attenuator switches, which are expensive and are switched very slowly, or the relay attenuators which are expensive and wear out quickly. Attenuation is controlled in standard steps of 0.0625 dB. The 10 bit programmable range results in the full 210=1024 steps yielding a dynamic range of 0 to 63.9375dB. The Keysight 8491B coaxial fixed attenuator provides precision attenuation, flat frequency response and low SWR over broad frequency ranges.
