Matrix Switch Module
The 40-727A-001-L (PXI) and 42-727A-001-L (PXIe) are 16x4 50 Ω RF matrices with SMB connectors and Y-axis loop-thru. The 4x-727A/728A/729A range are high density RF matrix modules suitable for switching up to 300 MHz in 50 Ω or 100 MHz in 75 Ω. They are available in 50 Ω or 75 Ω versions with SMB connectors or in 50 Ω versions with a multiway connector.

The 40-787 Microwave BRIC platform is designed to provide a solution for complex RF matrix applications. Using a common mechanical platform the module can be constructed to provide scalable non-blocking or blocking microwave matrix for frequencies to at least 20GHz. The standard configurations provide up to a 4x4 matrix. More complex matrix can be constructed by adding further switching functions and other devices inside the module.

Isolation relays on the module disconnect unused parts of the switching matrix to maintain RF performance and high isolation. The density and bandwidth of the PXIe‑2540 is ideal for routing signals between digitizers, function generators, and other RF generators and analyzers.

Larger matrices are easily built with varied X and Y dimensions, such as 8x2 and 4x4 using multiple 40-837 modules.

RF Signal Generator
The PXI‑5650 features continuous-wave generation capabilities with FM, 2‑FSK, or OOK modulation. It uses direct digital synthesis (DDS) for high-resolution frequency hopping or phase-continuous sweeping for fixture and device characterization applications. The PXI‑5650 is ideal for clocking nonstandard sample rates, such as WCDMA signals at baseband or intermediate frequency (IF). With these versatile signal generators, you can perform analog and digital modulation through the onboard DDS circuit, which gives you frequency modulation and frequency-shift keying for applications such as bit error rate test, antenna testing, or even keyless entry. You can also perform amplitude modulation using on-off keying.
