Spectrum Analysis
S95090B
-
The S95090B spectrum analyzer (SA) measurement software adds high-performance microwave spectrum analysis to PXI VNAs. With fast stepped-FFT sweeps resulting from optimized data processing, the SA software application provides quick spurious searches over broad frequency ranges. The S95090B software uses the PXI network analyzer's test and reference receivers to complete simultaneous spectrum measurements. Multi-channel SA measurements leverage the PXI VNA's internal swept-signal generators for efficient measurements of spurious signals emanating from mixers and frequency converters. The S95090B spectrum analyzer software application employs source-power and receiver-response calibration as well as fixture de-embedding, providing in-fixture and on-wafer spectrum measurements with the highest level of accuracy. Optional external attenuators should be connected with the VNA’s test ports to avoid receiver compression when measuring large signals.

Thermal Analysis
-
Thermal Analysis is important to a wide variety of industries, including polymers, composites, pharmaceuticals, foods, petroleum, inorganic and organic chemicals, and many others. These instruments typically measure heat flow, weight loss, dimension change, or mechanical properties as a function of temperature. Properties characterized include melting, crystallization, glass transitions, cross-linking, oxidation, decomposition, volatilization, coefficient of thermal expansion, and modulus. These experiments allow the user to examine end-use performance, composition, processing, stability, and molecular structure and mobility.

Fat Analysis
-
Unlike standard x-ray systems which use a single x-ray energy spectrum to scan products, DEXA technology uses two energy spectrums to discriminate between high and low energy x-rays. A patented software algorithm uses the differential x-ray energy absorbance of these two energies by the meat to determine the fat content.

Refinery Gas Analysis
-
Gas compositions produced in refinery plants consist of hydrocarbons, permanent gases, H2S, etc. Analyzing these gases is essential to control the quality of chemical products and plant operation. Shimadzu's RGA systems, available in numerous configurations, are designed to analyze various compositions in a variety of processes. In research and development for petrochemical and its catalysis field, target compounds often contain high-boiling point compounds and isomers. The Shimadzu CERGA makes it possible to precisely analyze those samples.

ESPI Analysis Application
TP601010
-
First released by Intel in June 2013, the Enhanced Serial Peripheral Interface (“eSPI”) is designed as a replacement for the Low Pin Count (“LPC”) bus. eSPI supports communication between Embedded Controller (EC), Baseboard Management Controller (BMC), Super-I/O (SIO) and Port-80 debug cards. eSPI was available in the Sky Lake chipset (2015) and is available in the Kaby Lake [current] chipset. Cannonlake will support eSPI and is slated for release the second half of 2017. Icelake is scheduled for release in 2019 and it will mark the first chipset when eSPI becomes mandatory.

Failure Analysis – Materials
-
Failure analysis – materials is the investigation into the background or history of a sample, or an event, to determine why a particular failure occurred. A product failure may include premature breakage, discoloration or even an unexpected odor. It is useful to know if this failure is a new, unique occurrence or if it has been an ongoing issue. The investigation can involve analyzing the sample as it currently exists and extrapolating from that data what may have caused the failure. A sample of the “good” vs. “bad” product may also be useful for comparison purposes.
