The range includes four plug-in models covering matrices of up to 1,536x4 in increments of 128 (model 65-221), 768x8 in increments of 64 (model 65-223), 384x16 in increments of 32 (model 65-225), and 192x32 in increments of 32 (model 65-227). Users can specify as many or as few plug-in modules (up to six) required and can field upgrade the chassis to extend the matrix when necessary. Another important feature is that over 1,500 relays can be closed simultaneously for specific conditions for parametric testing.

LXI 75Ω RF Matrix - 1GHz
The design is fully scalable, allowing a variety of matrix sizes to be offered in a single family. It maintains a close path loss match for all routes through the matrix, minimizing the calibration effort that has to be invested by users in optimizing their test system performance. The design is non-blocking Y to X (or X to Y) allowing any input to be connected to any output. The construction is based on high quality electromechanical relays which provide a fast operating time compared to microwave relays.

LXI Optical Switching - 8x8 Matrix Plugin Module

The 65-280-313 8x8 matrix is part of the 65-280 and 65-281 ranges of optical plug-in modules offering matrix & insert/bypass or multiplexer & SPST topologies respectively with all models based on MEMS fiber optic switches and available in various populations per plugin. In addition, a choice of different connector styles to suit most applications is offered: FC/APC (for optimal performance), FC/PC, SC/PC and ST for general applications and LC for high density applications. They use MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical-Systems) based optical switches to route signals between terminals by redirecting the optical signal. This is achieved using micromechanical mirrors driven by a highly precise mechanism activated via an electrical control signal.

LXI Scalable Matrix Chassis

This LXI scalable matrix chassis offers you a solution that can be easily re-configured by the insertion and removal of up to six LXI matrix plug-in modules (detail in the tables below). It is purchased as an empty chassis with a quantity of plug-in modules required for a particular matrix size. Unused chassis slots are blanked off by the supplied blanking pieces. Cooling is provided by rear fans and front air intakes ensuring no wasted space when the chassis is rack mounted. The cooling system is adaptive to its operating environment to ensure the acoustic noise is minimized when used in quiet laboratory environments and low load conditions.
