Imada offers a number of options for handheld durometers. These devices are used to test the hardness of materials for quality control or comparison purposes. For example, automotive manufacturers may want to test tires to make sure they are capable of resisting punctures. Products made with foam rubber may be tested with a durometer to ensure they are soft enough to be handled safely by children.

Auto Loading Durometer
-
P2 Auto Durometers maximize the repeatability of hardness tests. The P2 features digital speed control to ensure constant speed during hardness tests. The proprietary flexible coupling ensures perfect contact with test samples. All operation and program functions are controlled using the touch screen LCD panel or remotely using an Ethernet connection. Both automated or manual tests can be performed. Dual timers enable recording of the “creep phenomenon” or tendency of the reading to move back as time elapses from the moment the sensor makes full contact with the sample.

Durometer Hardness Testers
-
IMADA, Inc., provides accurate measuring devices for every need. Some of the many high-quality instruments we manufacture are durometers. Durometers are important to the manufacturing sector because they measure the hardness of materials. These include normal and hard rubber, as well as soft and hard plastics, by assessing the resistance to indentation of polymers, elastomers, and rubbers. They do this by applying pressure to the surface of an object via an indentor and measuring the level of resistance. The results are expressed in terms of the Shore hardness scale, which varies based on the materials.

Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
-
Marposs complements its geometric measurement solutions with solutions for non-destructive testing using eddy current technology. The testing options can be divided in three large groups:Material integrity test, to check for the presence of defects (cracks, porosity, blow holes, inclusions) on the surface and in the layer just below the surface.Material properties test, to check if the thermal cycles (hardening, hardening and tempering, annealing, stress relieving, etc.) have been performed correctly. Material identification checks are done to sort parts with the same geometry but made with different materials.Thread inspection to check if the treading has been carried out and its quality. In addition to the non-destructive checks performed with the eddy currents, we have developed a durometer for the conventional measurement of surface hardness, according to the Rockwell scale (HRC or HRA); which uses a diamond penetrator to measure the hardness of the sample being tested.

Durometers
-
A durometer gauge or durometer tester is needed to perform a durometer hardness test procedure. Durometer devices determine the surface hardness of many different materials, including polymers and elastomers. Each durometer or hardness tester measures the depth of an indentation in the material caused by a defined force of a given geometric presser foot. The depth of the indentation reflects the hardness of the material. A general distinction is made between static and dynamic methods. In traditional static tests, the test force is applied uniformly with increasing magnitude, while in dynamic testing methods, an instantaneous load is applied.

Tire Durometer
360092
-
The surface of a tire becomes harder with every heat cycle and even new tires of the same compound can vary a great deal in hardness. If a tire is too soft for the track, it will overheat and may not last the entire race, but if it is too hard, it will not get up to the optimum temperature and traction will be sacrificed. Intercomp's Tire Durometer enables you to make the correct tire selections for any track. Type-A Removable Tip. Reads from 0-100.

Motorized Constant Loader
CLE-150 Series
-
When we measure the hardness of rubber test specimen etc. with durometer, we have the possibility to make an error for the result of the measurement. To make solution for such an important factor fo the error, CLE-150 Series is employed the motor driving system for the descent speed control, and then we could realize to measure the hardness of constant speed and constant pressure that is precise and reproducible.
