Video Distribution Amplifiers (sometimes called a video splitter – not to be confused with a video split screen controller such as our PXD510E split screen controller) are typically used for connecting a camera or other video source to several monitors that do not have “looping” inputs. In this situation, each monitor has a permanent 75 ohm termination. With two non-looping monitors connected together, the line would be double loaded and result in a dim picture on each monitor. Using a Video Distribution Amplifier will solve this problem by driving each monitor individually at 100%.The second application is when the video signal is run over distances greater than 50 feet. The coaxial cable has a fair amount of signal loss over long distances. When multiple monitors are connected after long runs of coax, the degradation can be severe, especially when dealing with modern, high bandwidth signals that have 500+ lines of resolution.The VDA403 is a Video Distribution Amplifier designed for professional applications. Camera was connected by cable to the buoy and video was wireless transferred from the buoy to a video control room at a nearby ship.“Flessenpost” An IRIDIUM transmitter was placed inside a buoy and the buoy was dropped in the Nordsee, a geocaching look-a-like game was initiated to find the buoy.Survey of bottom with a camera on the diver and the buoy following the diver on the surface. Video was transferred to a control room on the quay.

Security cameras capture an analog video signal and transfer that signal over coax cable to the Digital Video Recorder (DVR). Each camera may be powered by plugging in the power supply right at the camera or by using RG59 Siamese cable which bundles the video and the power cables. The DVR converts the analog signal to digital, compresses it, and then stores it on a hard drive for later retrieval. Intelligence is built into the DVR to handle such things as scheduling, motion detection, and digital zoom. Monitors for viewing the video are connected to the DVR, or it can be set up to publish over an internal network for viewing on PCs. The DVR can also be set up to broadcast over the Internet and can add password protection and other features.
