This type provides a range of capacities up to 150 kN or 30 klb with better than ±0.5% (full scale) non-linearity. Three tapped holes are provided on the underside for ease of mounting. The LBM Series (Load Button) load cells are offered for compression only applications where space is limited. This load button is a direct replacement for many of the same type and bolt patterns currently used in the industry. The matching surface must be flat and at least 2 inches in diameter. The loading diameter is slightly convex for accurate load distribution. Eight threaded mounting holes are provided on the bottom surface for fastening down from beneath. These sensors are manufactured from heat treated 17-4ph stainless steel, and the sensing element incorporates bonded foil strain gages of the highest quality. They are sealed for protection against most industrial environments.

Interface’s load button load cells are designed for customers who require the measurement of compression forces in a very low height space. They are designed to provide the most accuracy in as little space as possible. The smaller ConvexBT or LBMU can fulfill the need for force measurements at a very respectable precision level that is enough for most applications. Diameters range from ⅜ of an inch to just over 3 inches, with heights from ⅛ of an inch to 2 inches. The shaped load button has a spherical radius to help confine misaligned loads to the primary axis of the cell.

The kit is intended for prototyping the Grid-EYE sensor which is a 64 pixel IR camera in a surface mount package measuring 11.6mm x 8mm x 4.3mm, which integrates the MEMS sensor, lens and I2C interface. The integrated Bluetooth module in the evaluation kit, the PAN1740, draws 4.9mA in transmit or receive operating modes, which means it can be powered by coin cell batteries. The IR sensor has 64 thermopile elements in an 8×8 grid format that detect absolute surface temperature without any contact.
