Testing and calibrating current transformers often requires standard burdens of reliable accuracy and stability, and burdens that are immune to stray fields and harmonics. These burden sets have been carefully designed to meet these requirements. They also provide the standard burdens required for the testing of current transformers for metering service, and for the testing (within the current rating provided by the sets) of current transformers for relaying applications, all as called for by IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) Publication 185: 1987.

It can supply the device under test with single phase precise voltage and current with calibrated phase shift along with DC voltage and current capability. Output voltage can be set in five ranges up to 280V and output current in six ranges up to 30A. Simulated electric power can be set independently for each phase. Frequency can be set from 15Hz to 1 kHz with resolution 0.001Hz to 0.01Hz. The MC133 Calibrator is equipped with 5 1/2 digital DC meter with DC ranges 20mA or 10V for direct calibration of various types of power transducers and wattmeters.

Multifunction calibrator MC142 is a precision voltage, current and power calibration source serving as a measurement standard in calibration laboratories and production lines; where verification of electrical measurement equipment & sensors is required. Internal harmonic and non-harmonic signals make it possible to test electrical performance of meters using signals with various crest factors.
