Panasonic Automotive & Industrial Systems has launched this evaluation kit for its Grid-Eye infrared array sensor, which integrates a ”nanopower” Bluetooth Smart module and a microcontroller. The kit is intended for prototyping the Grid-EYE sensor which is a 64 pixel IR camera in a surface mount package measuring 11.6mm x 8mm x 4.3mm, which integrates the MEMS sensor, lens and I2C interface. The integrated Bluetooth module in the evaluation kit, the PAN1740, draws 4.9mA in transmit or receive operating modes, which means it can be powered by coin cell batteries. The IR sensor has 64 thermopile elements in an 8×8 grid format that detect absolute surface temperature without any contact.

The I-Series chambers provide for fast and accurate TRP, TIS, downlink and uplink Maximum Coupling Loss (MCL) and Downlink and Uplink TCP/UDP MIMO TPUT tests for UEs, IoT modules, wearable devices, wireless stations (STAs) and Access Points (APs), also with user-selectable technology, band, channel (including DFS ones), bandwidth, antennas, rates (MCS) and other parameters in an individual manner for each test on a batch, which can then be run overnight in an unsupervised manner, something that only the Test Systems from EMITE can do.
