The 6TL22 Platform is a perfect base for the conception of a real modular Automatic Test Equipment for low to mid manufacturing volumes.A system designed around the 6TL22 is simple, easy to maintain, and cost-effective. The rack is prepared for the direct integration of the three platform-based receivers from Virginia Panel, the S6, G12 and G12X.The core of the system can be either an Industrial PC or a NI-PXI. A UPS will protect the valuable instrumentation as well as control all the steps for an automatic power-up and down of the test system.

Most defects in the circuit-board assembly are due to the solder paste or the process of printing solder paste. Since the transition to lead-free soldering, a whole new spectrum of problems has emerged in older paste printing and its due processes. Incomplete coalescence of ball grid array (BGA) spheres and solder paste deposits are failure modes that have increased in frequency since the transition to lead-free soldering. The Xceed enables true 3D measurement and provides the most accurate and repeatable inspection results with the minimum false calls. It’s designed with Advanced Signal Processing which gives results in noise-less, clear, and accurate 3D images.

Switch Probes
A switch probe is designed primarily for “presence/ electrical” test applications such as detecting the absence or presence of contacts within a wire harness connector. In this case, the switch probe provides electrical interconnection and verifies the connector has been manufactured properly. If contacts are missing or out of place, the part is rejected. If all the contacts are in place, the part is accepted and an electrical test is performed, verifying the electrical integrity of the connector and the wires within the harness.

CMK Mechanical Kits
Columbia has created a unique mechanical click system using ball bearings and guiding sleeves. The UUT is connected to the spring contact pins that are connected to the testing environment in a completely linear fashion. Connecting the UUT to probes can be approached both from the top and the bottom and, optionally, even from the side. The ergonomic housing provides generous space for additional measuring electronics. The back and bottom of the housing can be adapted to the various test system interfaces.
