LXinstruments Magpie 2 is an advanced evaluation and data mining application for our test database. The data to be evaluated can be pre-selected using complex, easily configurable filters. Based on the selected data, reports and trend analyzes can then be created and statistical investigations, machine and process capability analyzes can be carried out. The administration of the database is also easily possible for appropriately authorized users via a graphical user interface.

TSCOE4 Operator Interface Software Module

The TSCOE4 Operator Interface provides a graphical user interface for the operator or the implementer in a production environment. It permits selecting the test sequence and supports parametrization of the test. During the test sequence, the current measurement values are displayed in relation to the relevant limits and the pass/fail evaluations for each individual test. After completion of the test sequence, the global test result is visualized.In addition, there are online statistics available to the user, which show the measurement value distribution within the current batch.The editor which is supplied with the product makes it possible to adapt the user interface language to any new deployment location. Several languages – German, English and Chinese – have already been implemented and are available out of the box.

SCOEs and EGSEs by LXinstruments are used during test and validation of satellite assemblies and modules in aerospace applications. As an example, we implemented solar array simulators, battery simulators and high-power load racks for a German satellite manufacturer for testing satellite power supply systems. Due to the high power ratings, the systems are partially equipped with water cooling. Specialized switching modules were developed for switching DC currents at high voltage levels; these can be programmed with SCPI commands via Ethernet.Our modular OTP² functional test platform is ideally suited for implementing durable, reliable test systems, e. g. for in-flight entertainment applications. Since the OTP2 platform is based on open interfaces, it can be quickly and easily adapted to any required communication busses and ARINC interfaces.

After passing the test, the product is considered safe for the entire life cycle, provided it is left in its original condition and used for its intended purpose.

Test Platform
The National Instruments PXI-6528, PCI-6528, and PXI-6529 Digital I/O Modules are isolated digital I/O interfaces for PCI and PXI. These modules can use inputs from NI 6528 and PXI 6529 devices to capture the status of sensors, actuators, and logic devices. NI 6528 devices have 24 SSR outputs for switching external devices with input currents up to 150 mA. The NI 6528 and PXI-6529 devices are suitable for a variety of applications, from automotive development and industrial factory automation to aerospace, laboratory research, and biomedical applications due to their high current handling capacity and isolation.

Equipped with all the necessary standard functions, the test sequencer developed by LXinstuments meets all criteria for a successful and smooth test process. The test item ( DUT ) is examined under various operating conditions for its properties, function and usability. Typical areas of application can be found where the usual complexity of test sequences has to be processed. The test sequencer is therefore suitable for small and medium-sized systems where special functions of other sequencers are not required. The free, cross-platform, open source developer platform .NET serves as a starting point. The integrated WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) framework ensures a user-friendly program interface.

Multi Channel Optical Fibre Verification

The multi-channel optical fibre test system is used in the development and qualification of single mode optical fibres. The fibres are exposed to environmental influences in a climatic chamber in order to analyse the data on insertion loss and reflection. In addition, the current temperature in the climatic chamber is documented. Insertion loss measurement is performed with the help of an optical power meter, laser sources and optical switches. An Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) from Exfo is used for the reflection measurements. The system was designed for the simultaneous characterization of 15 sample fibres and one reference fibre.
