We do this by providing next-generation Antenna, RF Conditioning and PIM Test & Measurement solutions that are tailored to customer needs. Always backed by excellent PIM Performance. Kaelus was formed in 2010 by the combination of four entities each with a legacy of excellence in filtering technology. In 2019 the company became part of Microdata Telecom, with a background from Allgon, LGP Telecom and Powerwave. In early 2020 Base Station Antennas was added to the portfolio through the acquisition of Filtronic’s telecom antenna operations. From January 18th, 2021 we operate under the name Kaelus.

PIM Finder Solutions

The Kaelus PIM Finder is a solution designed to identify and locate external PIM sources. It is used to troubleshoot external PIM by replicating the cross-band PIM scenario and thus more accurately searching for the PIM sources. External PIM sources come in many different forms, e.g. corroded metal, loose metal objects, or objects that are non-linear in the proximity of the radiating antenna.

Passive Intermodulation (PIM) occurs when multiple RF signals encounter defects in materials or workmanship in an RF path. These defects behave like a mixer causing noise to be generated at mathematical combinations of the original carrier frequencies. PIM interference that falls in the receive band of a wireless system elevates the noise floor resulting in high dropped call rates, call blocking, slow data transmission speeds and decreased system capacity. Kaelus is the industry leader in Passive Intermodulation test solutions. Kaelus introduced the first commercial PIM testing analyzer in 1996 and continues to lead the industry today. Kaelus offers 2 series of portable PIM analyzers and a full line of PIM testing accessories. The iPA PIM Analyzer, a light weight, battery-powered unit, is the most popular PIM testing analyzer on the market as well as the 40W iPA Series used primarily in external PIM testing. Kaelus also offers PIM training and PIM certification courses.
