Designed with the older Mini PCI standard in mind they are the same basic form-factor (commonly used in small-form-factor devices like laptops and other portables) but lack the retention clips of Mini PCI. Unlike the original PCI Express bus, Mini PCIe provides both the standard PCI Express and USB 2.0 signals, allowing flexibility in peripheral design. The standard is highly suitable for industrial automation and test in vehicle, mobile, or any other shock / vibration sensitive application.

This multifunction Low Profile x1 PCI Express card contains a watchdog timer used to monitor the operation of your application program and operating system to initiate a system reset in case of a lockup. It can also monitor and control a variety of system hardware parameters. The card is 6.6 inches long and 2.535 inches seated height. I/O wiring connections are via a female DB25 connector on the card mounting bracket. Two models with increasing features are available.

This product is a x1 lane PCI Express digital I/O board available in two models. The PCIe-DIO-24H is the basic DIO and the PCI-DIO-24HS features advanced change-of-state (COS) detection capabilities. The card emulates an 8255 compatible chip, providing 24 DIO lines. The DIO lines are grouped into three 8-bit ports: A, B, and C. Each 8-bit port is configured via software to function as either inputs or outputs. Port C can be further broken into two 4-bit nybbles via software and configured as either inputs or outputs.
