CPRI Interface Panel Kits for Connectivity Testing

RFS’ CPRI Interface Panels are used to test fiber connectivity between Optical Base Band Units (BBU) and Remote Radio Heads (RRH), allowing cell operations and system performance engineers to ensure the best performance without having to disconnect the fiber optical system or disrupt service. In addition, the CPRI panel enables easy RF over CPRI testing at the bottom of the tower, reducing the need for unnecessary tower climbs, thus minimizing maintenance cost and overall OPEX for customers. The RFS CPRI panel is bundled with RFS’ high-quality fiber optic jumpers, providing an end-to-end solution that includes HYBRIFLEX® fiber-to-the-antenna DC and F/O solutions.

2.5G DPSK Demodulator

Optoplex’s Optical DPSK Demodulator, also known as Delay Line Interferometer (DLI), converts phase modulation to amplitude modulation over the entire C+L band in support of data transmission rates of 2.5, 10 or 40 Gb/s. The DPSK demodulator is designed for phase modulated optical communication systems utilized in commercial, defense and space exploration markets. The device plays a key role in improving signal quality and performance to meet the expanding demand for higher data rates and more complex transmission formats within current and next generation systems without major capital expenditure. Optoplex’s DPSK Demodulator is based on a patented free-space optical design, which is compact, athermal and polarization-independent. Themeasured frequency drift over temperature is only ~0.02 GHz/°C for our standard passive device. Further, this DPSK Demodulator exhibits a total polarizationdependent phase shift of less than 2 degrees over the entire operating temperature range with a high extinction ratio. Optoplex’s DPSK Demodulators can be configured to be fully tunable, colorless tunable or purely passive. Dual-Rate DPSK Demodulator is also available.

2-MGEM Optical Anisotropy Factor Measurement System

The 2-MGEM Optical Anisotropy Factor Measurement System is a normal-incidence polarization reflection microscope designed to measure the sample Mueller matrix and is a 2008 R&D 100 Award Winner. This system is designed specifically to evaluate the Optical Anisotropy Factor (OPTAF) of cross sections of TRISO nuclear fuel pyrocarbon layers. Other possible material characterizations include measuring Mueller matrix elements of other crystals, carbon compounds, and thin film coatings (e.g. surfacedeposition films) at normal incidence. The 2-MGEM can also measure retardation (d), circular diattenuation (CD) and the polarization factor (ß). These parameters are not measurable using older techniques, since those techniques do not incorporate a compensating optical element.
