Teledyne LeCroy’s Summit™ T48 joins the Summit™ T416 as the second protocol analyzer to be released in its family of tools supporting the PCIe 4.0 architecture. The new Summit™ T48 protocol analyzer based on the PCIe 4.0 specification supports up to 16GT/s and up to x8 lane width for protocol analysis. Companies that are interested in testing PCIe 4.0 based I/O cards such as Storage Controllers, Ethernet, Fibre Channel, Infiniband, and others will now be able to get all of the protocol analyzer debugging features they need, while being able to better manage their costs. PXI vector network analyzers (VNA) offer the capability to extend the number of ports for your measurements by using additional modules. When multiple modules are used, they are configured for multiport operation. The S95551B adds a multiport analyzer mode that enables full multiport error correction and measurement capabilities. The instruments may be identified as one VNA by the firmware running on an external host PC. At least one VNA instrument connected to your PC must have one S95551B license to maintain N-port capabilities.

In eliminating 8b10b encoding, PCIe 3.0 technology now relies on the existing data scrambling techniques similar to those used for PCIe 2.0 technology to ensure that receivers maintain lock on the incoming data stream.
