These converters have been designed to convert the transition times of instruments with fixed, fast transition times, to slower, fixed transition-times (150 ps, 250 ps, 500 ps, 1 ns, 2 ns); hence reducing the signal bandwidth. All transition-times are between 10% and 90% of amplitude.The design of these converters ensures very low signal reflection far beyond the 3 dB point. Reducing the signal transition-times also increases the overall pulse-performance for overshoot/reflection sensitive applications. The converters are fitted with two SMA connectors, one male, one female.

The 2-MGEM Optical Anisotropy Factor Measurement System is a normal-incidence polarization reflection microscope designed to measure the sample Mueller matrix and is a 2008 R&D 100 Award Winner. This system is designed specifically to evaluate the Optical Anisotropy Factor (OPTAF) of cross sections of TRISO nuclear fuel pyrocarbon layers. Other possible material characterizations include measuring Mueller matrix elements of other crystals, carbon compounds, and thin film coatings (e.g. surfacedeposition films) at normal incidence. The 2-MGEM can also measure retardation (d), circular diattenuation (CD) and the polarization factor (ß). These parameters are not measurable using older techniques, since those techniques do not incorporate a compensating optical element.

TRICOR’s Hazer Meter and DOI is ideally suited for measuring flat, non-textured high reflectance surfaces. The Model 807A Haze Meter design is in accordance with ASTM E430 and ASTM D5767 (method A) and is used to measure ±3 degrees around the specular lobe centered at 30 degrees in approximately 220 increments. That’s an angular sample size of 1 sample per 1.6 minutes of arc! This allows differentiation between samples with very small differences in reflectance characteristics.
