Silo QAR with webFB hardware is the ideal certified solution for programs on Boeing 737 aircraft. It quickly attaches to the Flight Data Recorder (FDR) test receptacle and gathers data using the ARINC 717 protocol. For applications on other aircraft or using other protocols, Silo QAR with webCS hardware includes ARINC 429 and Discrete interfaces in addition to ARINC 717.

Variable Power Supply

The VS-3 power supply is a very convenient portable, non-isolated “variable source” from 0 volts to 150 Vac or 0 volts to 150 Vdc and rated for up to 3 amps, thus the name VS-3. It is comprised of an illuminated voltmeter that reads to the first significant digit, AC variable system output voltage, DC variable system output voltage, logic output voltage and one sense (continuity) contact monitoring points. Banana jacks for connection of test leads are spaced at intervals that allow the use of dual banana test plugs if desired. The VS-3 is protected by two levels of overcurrent protection; AC input, and ground fault protection by a GFCI. All circuitry is housed inside a custom designed case made from 16 gauge steel. An Internal fan dissipates heat buildup and exhaust through louvered side vents built into the case. The carrying handle is designed with a “spring return to rest” position and is padded for comfort. The case has been sized for optimum portability and is balanced from the handle during transportation. The case has a powder coated finish that is scratch, chemical and weather resistant. Rubber padded feet support the case when in the upright position and a convenience receptacle is located on the side of the case. A unique feature of the VS-3 is that it contains “Magnet Packs” on the back of the case. These “Magnet Packs” can support the VS-3 and allow it to “hang” from any magnetic metal surface. The VS-3 can be powered by our UPS system, eliminating the need for an extension cord. The ability to magnetically attach the VS-3 near the source of connection and eliminating the need for an extension cord makes the VS-3 a “must have tool” for technicians.

The GPIB-PMC-XL is a PCI Mezzanine Card (PMC) GPIB controller card that converts any CPU card with PMC slots into a GPIB controller.It performs all the basic IEEE-488.1 functions such as talker, listener and system controller. The IEEE-488.2 compatible functions make it fully compliant with the IEEE-488.2 specification. In controller applications, you can control typically up to 15 devices (instruments). If operated as a talker/listener (device) interface it does exchange data and state information with the current controller-in-charge of the GPIB bus. The GPIB-PMC-XL lets Windows and Linux programs control GPIB devices.The flat ribbon cable has a standard GPIB jack on one end and a receptacle to be plugged into the GPIB card on the other end. The UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply) by Allied Edison is a light weight (7.2 lbs), portable, non-variable source that converts a 12 Vdc Lithium Ion battery to output 110 vac sine wave at 60 hertz. It also has four 12Vdc output jacks, and 4 USB ports to power electronic equipment such as computers or used to supply cell phone chargers, etc. It has a strong built in flashlight. The UPS plugs into a standard 120 Vac, 60 hertz receptacle for charging and indicates percent battery capacity remaining on a digital meter located on the front panel. The UPS can also be charged by a solar cell, sold separately or can be plugged into a vehicles cigarette lighter receptacle for use in remote areas. The UPS is an excellent compliment to the VS-3 power supply where a technician needs a variable AC/DC source and cannot run a power cord due to the remoteness of the work area.
