The OSA module acts as a stand-alone spectral engine, imaging and measuring a wide range of vapors, liquids and solids through transmission and diffuse reflection in a rapid non-destructive process. Leveraging our proprietary Micro-Optic technology, UC INSTRUMENTS’ C band OSA module features the following characteristics: (1) compact; (2) light-weight; (3) low power consumption; and (4) wide wavelength coverage. These characteristics of UC INSTRUMENTS’ compact OSA engines are suitable for a variety of handheld, portable or bench-top OSA/spectrometer applications. Equipped with a state-of-the-art internal wavelength reference, the OSA module is capable of precisely measuring optical spectrum. Because it does not require an expensive InGaAs detector array, the compact OSA module is a cost-effective alternative to other grating-based OSA/spectrometer engines. The OSA communicates with a PC or an instrument motherboard via an USB interface. Our advanced, rugged, industrial-grade, Fast and Gigabit Ethernet to multi-drop fiber optic converters are designed to cover large areas. These converters support up to 255 fiber nodes, and each fiber node can extend the Fast and Gigabit Ethernet data up to 100 miles or 160 km. Depending on the site situation, these multi-drop fiber optic converters can be configured as a daisy-chain or a self-healing redundant ring fiber network. When configured as a ring fiber network, the built-in self-healing feature allows the Ethernet data to be transmitted clockwise or counterclockwise; therefore, failure of any individual converter will not affect other devices located on the same fiber ring, making the entire Ethernet network more robust and reliable. These Fast and Gigabit Ethernet to multi-drop fiber optic converters have been designed for harsh industrial environments and withstand a wide temperature of -40°F to 185°F (-40°C to 85°C), and they come with the options multi-mode and single-mode, and ST, SC, FC, and SFP connectors.

This is a 144-bit full-size card. A Programmable Peripheral Interface chip, type 8255-5 provides three 8-bit ports (A, B, and C) for each 24-bit group. Each port can be independently programmed for either input or output. Port C can also be configured as two 4-bit ports. These cards fully implement Mode 0 of the 8255 PPI chip. (Consult the factory if you desire to operate in Mode 1.) Type LS245 bi-directional transceivers sink 24 mA (optionally 64 mA) and source 15 mA. These transceiver buffers provide hysteresis correction on inputs and added drive capability on outputs. The direction of the transceivers is set by software.
