Fluid Level Sensor

The output of the fluid level sensor is a voltage which changes in direct proportion to the level of fluid in the probe. The difference in permittivity between air and the fluid being measured changes the capacitance between the probe's two concentric tubes as the level changes. An RS232 connection to a PC allows the user to calibrate the fluid level and thermal drift compensation. The probe is factory replaceable, allowing the electronics to be re-used should the probe become damaged or if a new probe length is required.

The Model T201 combines a specially configured chemiluminescence analyzer with an external thermal converter to give stable and repeatable NH3 measurements at very low levels. In addition, the T201 provides simultaneous values for NO, NO2, and NOx concentrations. The Pistonphone - a mechanical sound source - offers a slightly higher degree of accuracy at a substantial increase in cost. In addition, the 200 or 250 Hz operating frequency is mechanically limited and not suited for measurements of filtered inputs. The 0.2 dB accuracy is quickly lost in the 0.7 to 1.5 dB tolerances acceptable for weighting filters at frequencies around 250 Hz.
