PXI Source Measure Unit
PXI Source Measure Units (SMUs) combine high-precision source and measure capability with features designed to reduce test time and increase flexibility. These features include high channel density for building parallel SMU test systems, deterministic hardware sequencing for minimizing software overhead, and high-speed update and sample rates for quickly changing setpoints and acquiring data. Additionally, the flexible sampling rate and streaming capability of PXI SMUs allows you to use the instrument as a digitizer to capture transient behavior, and the digital control loop gives you the ability to adjust the transient response of the instrument. The ability to change the transient behavior of the SMU, called SourceAdapt, reduces SMU settling time and minimizes overshoot and oscillations, even with highly capacitive loads.

The PXI-501 is a multifunction measurement instrument for functional and in-circuit measurements.It combines two parametric measurement units with a digital voltmeter, a high voltage current source and a discharge unit. This powerful combination makes it the ideal instrument for classical analog in-circuit test and manufacturing defect analysis with additional functional test capabilities.With it’s fast sampling rate of up to 4MSps it speeds up measurements and is capable of measuring and generating AC signals up to 100kHz.To enhance the PXI-501 capabilities it can be combined with an ABex TM-501 or an ABex TM-404. The ABex TM-501 enhances the in and output range of the PXI-501. Furthermore, it provides a shunt current measurement upgrade. This high bandwidth differential PXI fault insertion module is designed to simulate common faults on high speed two wire communication interfaces such as Ethernet. This module supports 4 or 8-channels of two wire serial connections and can be used for simulating faults on Ethernet, AFDX, BroadR-Reach, 100BaseT and 1000BaseT interfaces. Any wire can be set to an open circuit, shorts can be applied across the wire pair, or to the adjacent pair. Fault connections can be made to one of four external signals via two fault buses, typically simulating connections to a supply voltage or ground. Each fault bus is capable of carrying 2A allowing multiple channels to be connected to the same fault condition. Additionally, each fault bus features a changeover relay to allow the user to connect alternative fault conditions to the fault buses.

PXI 5A Fault Insertion Switch 10-Channel

The 40-196 is a 10 Channel 5A Fault Insertion Switch, primarily designed for the simulation of fault conditions in automotive & avionics applications involving the reliability testing of safety critical controllers. It is designed to be able to insert different fault conditions between the test fixture and the equipment under test: Open-Circuit, Short-Circuit between signal pairs, Short-Circuit between signal pairs and user applied fault conditions e.g. Power or GND. Shorting relays on each channel enable UUT signals to be subjected to external user applied fault conditions or to be shorted to the adjacent signal in the same channel. Relays in line with the signal allow open circuit conditions to be simulated on either side or both sides of a channel signal pair. The switching topology of the 40-196 allows channels to be interconnected so that complex fault insertion systems can be constructed.
