PXI Fault Insertion (Fault Injection) Modules
PXI Fault Insertion Units (FIU), also known as Fault Injection switch products, are designed specifically for safety-critical applications where the response of a control system is required to be evaluated when sensor connections behave in unexpected ways. These modules are scalable solutions that can be used to switch signals between simulations and real-life devices in a multitude of hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation and test systems. The fault insertion unit can significantly simplify and accelerate the testing, diagnosis and integration work in HIL applications.

Pickering's PXI Differential Fault Insertion Switch Modules support multiple channels of two-wire serial interfaces. Each channel can simulate an open fault in either or both wires, a short between both wires or a short to externally applied fault conditions. *Two module types are available: Two wire fault insertion module suitable for CAN Bus and FlexRay.*High bandwidth two wire fault insertion module suitable for Gigabit Ethernet, AFDX and BroadR-Reach.

PXI Fault Insertion Insertion Switch Modules

Our PXI Fault Insertion Insertion Switch Modules feature a breakout arrangement that allows faults to be attached to the sensor lines, this includes the breaking of a connection or the adding of defect – all of which can simulate connectivity problems in the system.

PXI Fault Insertion Matrix Modules
-
All of our fault insertion matrices feature a breakout arrangement that allows faults to be attached to the sensor lines via the Y axis. This includes the breaking of a connection or the adding of a series defect – all of which can simulate connectivity problems in the system. The three pin breakout versions allow the connection to be swapped for a “bad” sensor simulation.
